The CEO of Kaniyar Saei Mineral Production Company (Kanisa) reported 20% progress on the Aleshtar steel cord and textile-reinforced conveyor belt project.

According to Kanisa Public Relations, Mohammad Sepehr said that completed activities included selecting the consultant and EPC contractor, buying and levelling the project land, securing water, electricity and gas connections, preliminary studies, engineering services, tests and necessary surveying.
He added that other completed work included 1,200 metres of perimeter fencing, industrial and non-industrial building design, full site mobilisation, 20,000 cubic metres of excavation and construction of parts of the project’s buildings.
Discussing equipment supply, the CEO said that a technology purchase agreement with a foreign technology owner, equipment engineering design and machinery ordering were under way.
He continued that the site covered 64,000 square metres for a planned annual output of 200 kilometres of steel cord and textile-reinforced conveyor belts, with approximately IRR 12,000 billion of investment envisaged.
Sepehr said the Aleshtar project would create 500 jobs. It was being implemented in line with the Supreme Leader’s guidance on expanding production and youth employment, supporting balanced development—particularly in underserved regions—and localising steel cord conveyor belt technology.
He added that this first-of-its-kind project in Iran would save approximately USD 70 million in foreign currency annually.
Thanking Mines and Metals Development and Isfahan’s Mobarakeh Steel for their cooperation, the CEO stressed that timely support and funding from Mines and Metals Development Investment Company, Tuka Foolad, Sangan Steel and Tajali would allow commissioning on schedule.
